Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asked the disaster management team of the Railways to assist people trapped in a fire at the Stephen Court building on Park Street here.

“I have asked the railway disaster management team from Howrah and Sealdah to come and assist the trapped people,” Ms. Banerjee, who visited the site, said.

She alleged that fire broke out at 2 pm, but even after one-and-half hours, the blaze was not brought under control.
