Police exchange fire with Naxals at Gadchiroli

A team of the Maharashtra Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) exchanged fire with Naxals on Friday morning in the remote forests of Gotekasa in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra.

The skirmish, which lasted an hour-and-a-half, ended after the Naxals withdrew, the Gadchiroli control room said.

Police said the rebels opened fire on a joint patrol and the security forces retaliated.

The clash lasted from 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

No loss of life has been reported.
