Terming the BJP-PDP government a “historic opportunity” to fulfil aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished the new government under Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed saying it will take the State to new heights of progress.

In his tweet, Mr. Modi said, “PDP-BJP govt is a historic opportunity to fulfil the aspirations of the people of J&K and take the State to new heights of progress.”

Wishing the new government, the Prime Minister, who flew to Jammu to attend the ceremony said, “Witnessed the oath taking ceremony of Shri Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Congratulations and best wishes to him & his team“.

A new government of PDP—BJP alliance under Mr. Mufti assumed power on Sunday ending 49-days of Governor rule which became necessary as Assembly elections last year did not give a clear majority to any party in the state.
