Party questions delay despite govt.’s majority in Lok Sabha

The CPI (M) has demanded that the BJP-led NDA government take steps to provide reservation to women in elected bodies by passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha and legislative assemblies.

 

The 22nd national congress of the CPI(M) said the party would organise agitations across the country to ensure that the bill is passed. The party recalled how the journey of the women’s reservation bill began in 1996 during the then United Front government .
