Pakistan may demand a plebiscite: Sena

July 13, 2016 12:36 am | Updated October 18, 2016 03:13 pm IST - Mumbai:

The Shiv Sena on Tuesday said the Kashmir imbroglio had turned worse with Pakistan terming it Burhan Wani’s killing as “extra judicial killing,” and virtually giving Pakistan another opportunity to demand a plebiscite to decide the fate of the Kashmiri fate.

In an editorial titled “Kashmir Ka petale?” (Why Kashmir is burning?), the Sena mouthpiece Saamana said the explosion of violence and separatism in the Valley over Hizbul commander Burhan Wani was “not good for national unity and security.”

“There is nothing more unfortunate that Amarnath Yatra had to be stopped and pilgrims from all over the country faced attacks. Wani was the leader of a militant organisation and was involved in several terrorist activities in the Valley. So, what is the need for the mass mourning if was killed in an encounter with security forces?” it said.
