A day after the resignation of Haryana Power Minister Ajay Yadav, senior Congress leader Kumari Selja attacked Bhupinder Singh Hooda, saying it was the Chief Minister’s responsibility to sort out problems in his government.

“This has not happened overnight and there have been issues. The CM should have sorted it out a long time back. It is his responsibility and he has to address it,” Ms. Selja, a senior Congress leader from the State and Mr. Hooda’s rival said.

Batting for Mr. Yadav, Ms. Selja said he had been a Congress leader for a long time and its not a good sign if veterans leave the party.

“Some leaders have the habit of changing parties before election. But he is not one of those. Congress is an old party and senior leaders, who have been working for the organisation for long, should not leave the party,” she said.
