After 31 episodes of Mann ki Baat , a radio programme where Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about issues close to his heart directly to the listening public, he has decided to lend an ear on what exactly they think of his government’s performance as it enters its fourth year.
Termed Jan ki Baat (voice of the people), a survey on Mr. Modi’s personal app, the Namo App, has been launched (closing June 15) with an exhaustive list of questions and multiple choice answers ranging from very bad to excellent ratings.
More significantly, the survey seeks to find out not just where the respondent is residing but the Assembly constituency where he/she votes before starting off with the survey.
Two questions
The survey also has two open-ended questions at its conclusion asking respondents to name one positive and one negative thing about the Modi government.
Nearly all government schemes launched by the current dispensation have been listed for rating, which cannot be conducive to a good night’s sleep for members of the Council of Ministers. Specific questions, nearly 11, deal with perceptions with regard to the government. For example, one of the questions in this section asks the opinion of the respondent on whether “the Modi government is empowering women to lead to women-led development.”
Mr. Modi takes the feedback generated from his app fairly seriously, and the ratings game therefore, cannot be “ Acche Din ” (happy days) for his Ministers.
