The Director of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on Monday submitted a two-page report to the Goa State Human Rights Commission (GSHRC), along with attested copies, on a Delhi girl student’s allegations of sexual harassment by a senior Delhi official of the event on November 16 in Goa.
Replying to the queries of the Commission, which had sought a detailed report by December 2, the Director said the complaint did not disclose commission of a cognisable offence.
There was, as such, no question of a need to lodge an FIR.
The IFFI director said necessary and immediate action had been taken under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. He said an all-women cell was set up at the IFFI camp office, as an internal complaints committee immediately after receiving the complaint.
