Naidu holds the reins of Delhi action

Keeping his promise to review daily how TDP MPs were pressuring the Centre to address issues relating to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a teleconference with them in Delhi and was in constant touch with them.

Mr. Naidu saw the MPs’ protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament complex and then asked them to seek an appointment with two or three Union Ministers. Following his instructions, they hurriedly sought appointment with Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The first one materialised but the second one got cancelled. He asked them to keep trying and wanted them to forcefully put the State’s issues before Mr. Singh.

He also wanted them to submit a notice under Rule 193 seeking a discussion in the Lok Sabha.

No sooner did the MPs reached Delhi this morning, Mr. Naidu spoke to them and told them to keep up the pressure on the Centre both inside and outside Parliament on the raw deal handed out to Andhra Pradesh in the recent Budget. The fight should continue till the Centre fulfilled all promises, he said. The state would not compromise, he added.
