The former Karnataka Chief Minister, B.S. Yeddyurappa, on Friday said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi should be projected as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

Mr. Yeddyurappa, who has been sidelined by the leadership, said the “entire country wants our Narendra Modiji” as future Prime Minister.

“That is why I am of the opinion that Narendra Modi should be projected as the Prime Minister in making,” he told reporters here, adding he would be making such a “request.”

Unhappy with Advani

Mr. Yeddyurappa, who had to quit as Chief Minister in the wake of allegations of wrongdoings, has been unhappy with senior leader L.K. Advani as he feels the BJP veteran was supporting his rivals in the party.

On his personal fate, the leader from Karnataka said: “I am not worried about any post for me. I am worried about my State's development.”
