MeT predicts heavy rains in south Odisha

September 17, 2014 03:37 pm | Updated 03:37 pm IST - Bhubaneswar

Heavy downpour is likely to pound some places in south Odisha while rain and thundershower would continue in many parts of the state till Thursday due to a low pressure area, the MeT office said on Wednesday.

The low pressure, which has been triggering rainfall in several parts of the state, now lies over west-central Bay of Bengal off north coastal Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts, the Meteorological centre here said.

Under its impact, rain and thundershower would continue to occur at many places over Odisha, it said in a bulletin.

Similarly, heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over South Odisha during next 24 hours.
