Mayaram shifted again

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday cancelled the orders of appointment of Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram as Tourism Secretary and instead approved his appointment as Minority Affairs Secretary.

Dr. Mayaram, who held the post of Secretary in the Finance Minstry’s Department of Economic Affairs replaces Dr. Lalit K.Panwar in the Minority Affairs Ministry, who relinquished the charge of the post, according to an official release. Dr. Mayaram assumed the charge of Minority Affairs Secretary on Thursday itself.

The Cabinet Committee also approved the appointment of Dr. Panwar as Tourism Secretary. The assignment of additional charge of the post of Economic Affairs Secretary has been given to Expenditure Secretary Ratan P.Watal.
