Maudany remanded to police custody

PDP leader Abdul Nasir Maudany was brought here from Kerala by air on Tuesday night and produced before the First Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate, Venkatesh R. Hulgi, at the latter's residence. He was remanded to police custody till August 26.

Soon after the flight carrying Mr. Maudany landed at the heavily guarded Bengaluru International Airport around 9.30 p.m., the police whisked him away in an ambulance through the cargo gate to avoid the media scrum, highly placed police sources told The Hindu .
