Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily on Saturday sought to clarify that the threats he earlier said Petroleum Ministers received from “import lobbies” were not “personal attacks” but, rather, aimed at “obstructing decision-making”.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
On Friday, Mr. Moily had said that Petroleum Ministers were threatened by “import lobbies” not to take decisions aimed at cutting import of petroleum products.
On Modi
Lashing out at Narendra Modi, who was recently anointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s election campaign committee chairman, Mr. Moily called the Gujarat Chief Minister a challenge to his own party and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“They [NDA and BJP] can’t even dream of winning the 2014 election,” Mr. Moily said, adding that a third front could be a challenge only for the BJP.
