June 11, 2011 03:08 pm | Updated 03:08 pm IST - Patna

Rastriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad was ’appeasing’ the Congress for a berth in the Manmohan Singh cabinet, JD(U) spokesman Sanjay Singh alleged on Saturday.

“Lalu harbours a strong desire to become a minister in Manmohan Singh cabinet and is appeasing the Congress,” Mr. Singh told reporters here.

Mr. Prasad’s appeasement was evident when he spoke he against yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s fight against corruption, Mr. Singh claimed.

He also cited as evidence the RJD-LJP allies not fielding a candidate against Congress nominee Ramcharitra Yadav in the bypoll to Purnia assembly constituency.

Mr. Singh criticised LJP supremo Ramvilas Paswan for taking up the June 3 police firing at Forbesganj with the PM and not the grant of a special status for Bihar.
