Wayanad, Kasaragod fare well in Plus Two exams

Wayanad district registers 85.84 per cent win

The number of students who secured A+ in all subjects in the higher secondary examinations has risen to 236 this year from 180 students last year.

While the district retained its fourth position in the pass percentage at State level, the increase in the number of top scorers is seen as an improvement in students’ performance. The pass percentage in the district this year is 85.84 per cent as against last year’s 82.9 per cent.

Rajeev Gandhi Memorial Model Residential School at Kallur, a residential school exclusively for the Kattunayaka tribal students, and Government Higher Secondary School at Moolalamkavu recorded 100 per cent win.

Wayanad Orphanage Higher Secondary School at Pinangode and Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School at Dwaraka registered 99 per cent results.

In the open school section, the district achieved 35.12 percent pass. Of the 2,705 students, 950 passed in the exams.

80% pass in Kasaragod

Staff Reporter adds from Kasaragod: Two schools in Kasaragod scored 100 per cent pass in the higher secondary examinations. The district registered 80.85 per cent pass. The Marthoma S chool for the Deaf at Chenkala, near here, and MRHSS, Parvanadukkam, earned the distinction of 100 per cent pass.

A total of 334 students in the district scored A Plus grade in all subjects.
