Union Minister for Defence A.K. Antony said here on Saturday that since Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had ordered in inquiry into the incident in which some of his personal staff allegedly aided a couple selling solar panels and solar devices, he would react to the issue only after the report was out. Minister for Non-Resident Indian affairs Vayalar Ravi said Ministers should be more careful when they appoint their personal staff.

The recent developments at the Chief Minister’s office should be a lesson in this regard. He said staff members were appointed based on trust.

P.C. Chacko, MP, said he had a definite opinion on these developments, but would refrain from making a comment respecting the wishes of the party high command.

Congress leader M.M. Hassan said P.C. George should moderate his speech and respect the fact that he was the Chief Whip of the United Democratic Front.

He said Mr. George should be more balanced in his comments.
