Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan is convening a conference of service organisations on Friday afternoon to discuss pay revision for government employees.

The conference will focus mainly on the terms of reference of the commission to be appointed to make recommendations on pay revision.

Several service and teachers organisations are demanding pay revision on par with that announced for Central government employees. They are also demanding for the pension age to be raised.

The Chief Minister will, in addition, hold a meeting of officials and people’s representatives on relief and rehabilitation of the Endosulfan victims in Kasaragod district in the afternoon. The meeting may take final decisions on measures proposed by the Chief Secretary Neela Gangadharan early this month.
