VS refuses to relent

February 22, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 02, 2016 05:38 am IST - ALAPPUZHA:

Senior CPI(M) leader V.S. Achuthanandan remained unrelenting despite the State leadership sending two of his former trusted confidants, S. Sharma and K. Chandran Pillai, as emissaries to know his mind.

Party sources said the two did not take any specific proposal to the leader, who walked out of the CPI(M) meet on Saturday, but heard him out as he put forward his demands. He is understood to have demanded that the resolution be declared inappropriate, action be taken against those responsible for the resolution and against the prime accused in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case.

Meanwhile, the discussion on the organisational report at the State conference was focused entirely on Mr. Achuthanandan with several delegates demanding strong action against him.
