A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) Vice Chancellor Kuncheria P. Isaac has submitted his resignation to Governor P. Sathasivam. Dr. Isaac has requested that he be relieved of his charge by December 31.

The Governor has reportedly asked Dr. Isaac to continue for the time being as he has not forwarded the resignation letter to the government.

The resignation comes in the wake of numerous dilutions to the ‘year-out’ policy of the varsity against which there were strong student agitations for the past few months.

Peeved with the government

Dr. Isaac is also reportedly peeved with the government for not supporting him in the various steps taken to improve academic quality in the varsity. Confirming that he had indeed submitted his resignation, Dr. Isaac said that there was no point continuing as VC under the present circumstances.

Since the Governor has not accepted the resignation letter any further comment about the same would be inappropriate, he added.
