Unidentified miscreants on Monday defaced the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI-M] branch committee office at Adukkathbayal in the district by pouring used motor oil.

They also damaged the flag posts put up by the party in the locality besides those at nearby Nellikkunnu.

The CPI(M) leadership has blamed the RSS-BJP leadership for the ‘deliberate attempt to vitiate peace prevailing in the district.’

The CPI(M) organised a protest meeting here later on the day against the incident.

Protest meeting

The meeting, inaugurated by former Manjeswaram MLA C.H. Kunhambu, was addressed by various party leaders.

Party district secretary K.P. Satheeshchandran accused the RSS-BJP activists of perpetrating the crime to vitiate the political ambience in the district.

DYFI block committee secretary P. Shivaprasad also flayed the attack.
