Seagull Frontier Management, an integrated resort management company with its headquarters in the United States, has offered to set up an integrated tourism project in Kerala.
Chief Executive Officer of the company Michael Gore met Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Monday with the proposal. He told Mr. Chandy that more than 10000 job opportunities could be generated through the project. It would also be possible to attract lakhs of tourists to the State.
The company is seeking about 50 acres of land in Kochi or its suburbs for the project. If the clearances from the government are received, the first phase of the project could be completed by October 2013, Mr. Gore said.
In reply to a question from the Chief Minister, Mr. Gore said that the project would not cause any environmental problem. The company had successfully set up integrated tourism resorts in Singapore, Malaysia, Las Vegas and Macau.
