UDF district liaison panels to be reconstituted

August 20, 2016 03:37 am | Updated 07:42 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The United Democratic Front (UDF) has decided to reconstitute its liaison committees at the district and Assembly constituency levels, many of which are currently defunct, besides falling vacant consequent on the exit of the Kerala Congress (M) from the coalition.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the chairmen and conveners of UDF district liaison committees here, coalition convener P.P. Thankachan said that district committees had been asked to submit their proposals on the reconstitution by September 1, when the next UDF high-power committee meets.

The vacancies in district liaison committees are primarily in Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha.
