September 16, 2010 09:18 pm | Updated 09:18 pm IST - PALAKKAD:

Vellamkiri, 55, head of the Irula tribe of the Nallasingha hamlet in Attappady, and his wife, Rajammal, 50, were found hanging in their house on Thursday morning. The hamlet comes in the area where some windmill companies have allegedly encroached upon tribal land. The couple were away from their house for a week and returned at 9 p.m. on Wednesday. The local people say the two had no reasons for committing suicide.
