Train services to be hit in Kerala for 28 days from April 4

Track-doubling work between Shoranur and Karakkad

Railways will undertake non-interlocked and yard-remodelling work at Shoranur junction for 28 days from April 4 in connection with track-doubling between Shoranur and Karakkad railways stations.

The doubling of the stretch will avoid detention of trains at Shoranur and Karakkad for crossing and Shoranur-Managalore junction stretch will become double line, according to Railways.

One more platform (No.7) will be available at Shoranur and it will be able to accommodate rakes with 24 coaches.

To undertake the works and to lessen the hardship of the commuters, Railways have diverted, partially cancelled, fully cancelled, regulated and provided additional stoppage for some trains. As many as six pairs of long distance express trains and a passenger train will skip Shoranur junction during the period.

Diversion of trains

13351/13352 Dhanbad/Tata Nagar-Alappuzha- Dhanbad/Tata Nagar Express will be diverted from April 4 to May 1. These trains will be provided with additional stoppages at Wadakancherry and Ottapalam railway stations during this period.

17229/17230 Kochuveli-Hyderabad-Kochuveli Sabari Express will be diverted from April 4 to May 1. Additional stoppage will be provided to these trains at Wadakancherry during this period.

12511 Gorakhpur-Thiruvananthapuram Raptisagar Tri-weekly Express will be diverted from April 6 to 30. 12512 Thiruvananthapuram-Gorakhpur tri-weekly Raptisagar Express will be diverted from April 7 to May 1.

16327 Korba-Thiruvananthapuram Bi-weekly Express will be diverted from April 5 to April 29. 16328 Thiruvananthapuram- Korba Bi-weekly Express will be diverted from April 4 to April 29.

16325 Indore-Thiruvananthapuram Ahalyanagari Weekly Express will be diverted from April 10 to May 1. 16326 Thiruvananthapuram-Indore Ahalyanagari Weekly Express will be diverted from April 6 to 27.

12521 Barouni-Ernakulam Raptisagar Weekly Express will be diverted from April 4 to 25. 12522 Ernakulam-Barouni Raptisagar Weekly Express will be diverted from April 5 to 26.

16343/16344 Thiruvananthapuram-Palakkad Town-Thiruvananthapuram Amritha Express will be diverted from April 21 to May 1. These trains will be provided with additional stoppage at Wadakancherry railway station during this period.

56605 Coimbatore-Thrissur Passenger will be diverted from April 10 to May 1.

Partially cancelled

56613/56614 and 56615/56616 Shoranur Junction-Nilambur Road-Shoranur Junciton Passenger trains will be cancelled between Shoranur and Angadippuram from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run only between Angadippuram and Nilambur only.

66605/66604 Coimbatore-Shoranur-Coimbatore passenger trains will be cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Shoranur Junction from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run between Coimbatore Junction and Palakkad Junction only during this period.

56323/56324 Coimbatore-Mangalore Central-Coimbatore Fast Passenger trains will be cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Pallipuram Stations from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run between Coimbatore Junction and Palakkad Junction and from Pallipuram to Mangalore Central only during this period.

56651/56650 Coimbatore-Kannur-Coimbatore Fast passenger will be cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Pallipuram stations from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run between Coimbatore Junction and Palakkad Junction and from Pallipuram to Kannur stations only during this period.

56606/56608 Ernakulam Junction-Shoranur Junction Passenger will be cancelled between Vallathol Nagar and Shoranur Junction from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run between Ernakulam and Vallathol Nagar only during this period.

16605/16606 Mangalore Central-Nagercoil-Mangalore Central Eranad Express will be cancelled between Thrissur and Kuttipuram station from April 10 to May 1. These trains will run between Nagercoil and Thrissur and between Kuttipuram and Mangalore Central only, during this period.

16302/16301 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Shoranur Junction- Thiruvananthapuram Central Venad Express will be cancelled between Ernakulam and Shoranur Junction station from April 103 to May 1. These trains will run between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Ernakulam Junction only during this period.

12076/12075 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kozhikode - Thiruvananthapuram Central Janshatabdi Express will be cancelled between Thrissur and Kozhikode stations from April 10 to May 1.

These trains will run between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Thrissur only during this period.

16107 Chennai Egmore–Mangalore Central Express will be cancelled between Palakkad Junction and Mangalore Central from April 17 to 30. 16108 Mangalore Central–Chennai Egmore Express will be cancelled between Mangalore Central and Palakkad Junction from April 18 to May 1. These trains will run between Palakkad Jn and Chennai Egmore only during the period.

16349 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Nilambur Road Rajya Rani Express will be cancelled between Nilambur Road and Shoranur Junction stations from April 20 to 30. 16350 Nilambur Road- Thiruvananthapuram Central Rajya Rani Express will be cancelled between Nilambur Road and Shoranur Junction from April 21 to May 1. The full rake of Rajya Rani Express, linked with that of Amritha Express, will be brought up to Palakkad Junction during this period. These trains have been provided with an additional stoppage at Wadakancherry station. Passengers from Nilambur Road side can board/alight at either Wadakancherry or Ottapalam.

Fully cancelled trains

56617/56618 Shoranur Junction–Nilambur Road Passenger will be fully cancelled on April 2, 26 and 27.

Additional stoppages

16307/16308 Alappuzha-Kannur-Alappuzha Express have been provided stoppage at Wadakancherry station from April 4 to May 1 and at Vallathol Nagar from April 10 to May 1. 16649/16650 Mangalore Central-Nagercoil-Mangalore Central Parasuram Express at Wadakancherry station from April 4 to May 1.

On April 11, 16649 Mangalore Central-Nagercoil Parasuram Express will be regulated at Pattambi for 30 minutes and 16345 Lokmanya Tilak-Thiruvananthapuram Central Netravathi Express will be regulated en route for 45 minutes.

On April 18, 16649 Managalore Central-Nagercoil Parasuram Express will be regulated en route for 240 minutes, 16650 Nagercoil-Managalore Central Parasuram Express will be regulated at Vallathol Nagar for 45 minutes, 16345 Lokmanya Tilak–Thiruvananthapuram Central Netravathi Express to be regulated en route for 220 minutes.
