Three held in Sabith murder case

The police on Saturday arrested R. Sijesh, 20; K. Sachin Kumar, 19; and a 17-year-old boy on the charge of stabbing to death Sabith, 18, of Meepuguri on July 7.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy.SP), Kasaragod and Circle Inspector C.K. Sunil Kumar said two other accused, K. Akshay, 21, a resident of J.P. Colony at Anangoor and K.N. Vaishakh, 19, of Kanhangad had surrendered on Friday.

The police also recovered a knife allegedly used to stab Sabith from near a stream near J.P. Colony.

The accused, travelling on motorcycles, in a fit of rage, stabbed Sabith and Raeese riding their two-wheeler at 11:30 a.m., the officers said.

There was mild tension following the death of the youth and the police had deployed additional forces in sensitive localities. Prohibitory orders under section 144 were also clamped till Saturday.
