She was ailing from throat cancer.

Actor P. Vasanthi, 65, popularly known as Thodupuzha Vasanthi, died at a hospital in Vazhakkulam on Tuesday. She was suffering from throat cancer .

Before entering films, she was active in theatre.

Remembered for Yavanika

Vasanthi, who played a memorable role in K.G. George’s Yavanika, had acted in big and small roles in more than 450 films, in a career spanning four decades.

She had also acted in TV serials. She got the State government award and the film critics award.

Her body was taken to the house of his brother at Manakkadu.

The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy has condoled the passing away of Vasanthi.
