A local court on Tuesday admitted a petition seeking to register cases against Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman P. J. Kurien and former Additional Director General of Police Siby Mathew, who headed the Special Investigation Team, in connection with the Suryanelli gang rape case.
The petition filed by Kerala Mahila Sangham office-bearer C. Udayakala, sought a direction from the Court to police to register a case against Mr. Kurien for alleged sexual exploitation of the victim.
Action has been sought against Siby Mathew, then Additional Director General of Police who headed the Special Investigation Team that inquired into the case, for alleged destruction of evidence and conspiracy to shield Mr. Kurien.
The judicial first class magistrate court posted the case for hearing on March two.

Congratulations. Now we would like to see Kurien behind bars, along with Siby Mathew for not doing his duty and twisting the case to help Kurien. Bravo. My best wishes to you all and to the girl. She is not to be ashamed, but it should be Kurien for doing what he did, Sonia Gandhi for not standing for law and truth, other congress MPs like Ravi etc. for the dirty mind set. I am sure there must have been many more than 35 charge sheeted accused. >Dharamrajan should become state witness and should go for rehabilitation with Kurien, Mathew company for life term rigorous imprisonment
P J Kurien should step down as the allegation against his is very shameful and serious.
If Netas' are involved in such crime, should step down till he is absolved from the allegation
Since Rajya Sabha vice chairman is involved, the case should be heard by Supreme Court.
