Student police cadets to get grace marks

Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said that the State government will give grace marks to student police cadets in examinations on a par with the National Cadet Corps.

He was presiding over an interaction programme between student police cadets (SPC) and former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, organised by the district police at the municipal town hall here on Saturday.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said that though all cadets would not be recruited to the police force, the project could be seen as a stepping stone and those interested would be given priority in selection. He said the government hoped to double the number of schools with the SPC, from the present 234 schools, within the shortest span.
