Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan said that the second educational reformation in the State had begun with the government initiative to protect the general education system.
Speaking after inaugurating the district-level school reopening festival at Government UP School, Klari, on Thursday, Mr. Sreeramakrishnan said that the first educational reformation had taken place in 1957 when the government gave shape to comprehensive plans.

However, the private sector had caused some problems in the education field in recent years in the State, he said.
The Speaker said that the social imbalance caused by private educational institutions in the State had led to the formation of new policies and fresh views.
He said that today’s textbooks would disappear soon. “We will have an educational culture where there will be no torture rooms. We will have solid rules to regulate private institutions,” Mr. Sreeramakrishnan said.
