Family and friends of Malabar Cements whistleblower V. Saseendran, who along with his two sons were found dead under mysterious circumstances four years ago, organised a memorial meeting at Kollangode on Saturday.
They expressed concern over the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation in the case, which they claimed, had not made any progress so far.
Saseendran’s brother V. Sanal Kumar said the CBI finding that Saseendran killed his two children by hanging them before committing suicide was far from true.
No proper investigation had been conducted into the allegation of the family that he and his sons were murdered at the behest of a private contractor, who was involved in many corruption cases related to Malabar Cements Limited. Though the CBI charged a suicide abetment case against the contractor V.M. Radhakrishnan, no proper investigation had been held into the four corruption cases involving top officials of Malabar Cements and the contractor. Saseendran, a former company secretary with Malabar Cements Limited (MCL), was found dead hanging at his house in Palakkad along with his two sons aged 11 and eight on January 24, 2011.
His family and friends went on a day-long fast at the Pattanam junction in Kollangode.
Only an impartial probe in the corruption cases would unravel the mystery shrouding the death of Saseendran and his sons, they said.
