Secular rally, Shobha Yatra mark Sree Krishna Jayanti celebrations

Balagokulam, under the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has celebrated Sree Krishna Jayanti by staging shobha yatras in different parts of the district on Wednesday.

Children dressed up as Krishna, gopika and other characters from the life of Krishna took part in the yatras. Shobha yatras of these children, their parents and other devotees, accompanied by tableaus and chenda-melam, were taken out in the towns of Pathanamthitta, Mallappally, Adoor, Thiruvalla, Kozhencherry, Ranni, Konni, and Pandalam, besides village headquarters, in the afternoon.

CPI(M)’s secular rally

Meanwhile, a secular rally, in which children dressed up as Bharat Mata in Hindu, Christian and Muslim costumes, took part, was organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Kodumon, near Konni, on Wednesday evening.

The Veluthampi Dalawa Cultural Forum attached to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Mannady celebrated Sree Krishna Jayanti at Mannady, near Adoor, on Wednesday afternoon. A number of children dressed up as Sree Krishna and his concert, Radha, took part. The procession that began from near the Mudippura Devi temple culminated at the Old Thrikkovil Mahadevar temple grounds at Mannady. S. Manoj, former Kadambanad panchayat president; P.B. Harshakumar, CPI(M) area secretary; and K. Sajan and Sreeni, CPI(M) leaders; were among those who led the procession.
