The Sahasrakalasabhishekom and Kalabhabhishekom rituals were performed at the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple prior to the Utchapuja on Tuesday. Tantri Kandararu Rajeevararu, assisted by Melsanthi E.N. Krishnadas Namboodiri, performed the Brahmakalasapuja, Sahasrakalasapuja, and Kalabhapuja in the forenoon. The Brahmakalasom and the Kalabhom (sandal paste) were taken out in a ceremonial procession to the sanctum sanctorum, with the accompaniment of the sacred Marappani and other traditional temple percussion, by 12 noon.
