‘Official not taken back despite court orders’

The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has directed the Secretary of Industries Department to reinstate within three weeks an official who had not been taken back by the department despite a directive by the High Court one-and-a-half years ago.

The SHRC asked the Secretary to submit a report, after reinstating the General Manager of Alappuzha Cooperative Spinning Mills, Jaykrishnan, in service.

Mr. Jaykrishnan had approached the High Court against a suspension order issued against him by the government. The court had ordered on February 24, 2016 that he be reinstated in service. Yet the order had not been implemented by the government, following which Mr. Jaykrishnan approached the SHRC.
