Re-induction of Ganesh only after discussion in KPCC

The re-induction of K.B. Ganesh Kumar into the Oommen Chandy Cabinet is likely to face more roadblocks.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has demanded detailed discussions on the political implications of the move prior to taking it to the United Democratic Front (UDF) for political clearance.

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, according to Congress sources, asked UDF convener P.P. Thankachan and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to put on hold any move to re-induct Mr. Ganesh Kumar into the Cabinet till the Congress discussed the issue. He had to resign as Forest Minister following marital discords that ended up in his wife, Yamini Thankachi, filing a case against him under the Domestic Violence Act.

According to sources, the Chief Minister was hoping to complete the process as early as possible, preferably ahead of the coming Assembly session beginning in the second week of June.
