A pal of gloom descended on Pooram organisers as torrential rain lashed the city on Sunday.

Though all arrangements are ready for sample fireworks on Monday, the pits readied for fireworks have been filled with water. The wet ground poses challenge for the pyrotechnicians. The sample firework was cancelled even last year due to heavy rain.

Heavy rain lashed the district on Sunday. The rain was accompanied by lightning and thunder. Low-lying areas were inundated. Traffic was disrupted in many areas.
