Thrissur city is under Pooram fever. While the Paramekkavu wing has already started the work of pandal at Manikandanal, Thiruvambadi’s pandal work at Naikanal and Naduvilal will start on Friday.

As the pandal works have started city is facing terrible traffic block. Heavy traffic in connection with the summer holidays is making things worse.

Nadam Baiju of Edappal is constructing the pandal for Paramekkavu this time. While Pallathu Manikandan of Cherur is making the Naduvilal pandal, Minalur Chandran is making the Naikanal pandal.

Thrissur Poroam will be celebrated on April 25 this time. Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi Bhagavathis will be taken back to their respective temples on April 26 after Upacharam Cholli Piraiyal ritual.

Sample fireworks will be held on 23 while the exhibition of elephant accoutrements will be held on April 24.

Though confusion over conduct of fireworks still persists, the ministers from Thrissur have assured the Thiruvambadi and Paramekkavu Devaswoms that there would not be any problem in conducting fireworks.
