The Narendra Modi government is implementing the agendas of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), CPI State secretary Pannian Ravindran has alleged.

Mr. Ravindran said this at a public meeting here on Monday that was organised by the LDF as part of the political campaign against the Modi government.

He alleged that the Modi government was engaged in demolishing the secular traditions of the country.

The RSS-VHP agenda was being carried forward by polarising the people in the name of religion and caste. The progressive forces of the nation should foresee this danger and move forward with caution, Mr. Ravindran said.

Working class

Even the rights earned by the working class through sustained agitations over the years now stood threatened, he said.

The Modi government was also committed to privatisation by targeting the public sector undertakings.

Even the nationalised banks faced this threat of privatisation, Mr. Ravindran said.
