Sixty-year-old C.R. Rajendran has hit upon a novel idea to extend his solidarity with the anti-corruption campaign launched by social activist Anna Hazare. On Monday, he climbed up a 15-ft. coconut tree and put up a makeshift ‘manchan' to launch his dawn-to-dusk fast in support of the cause Anna Hazare is espousing.
However, unlike his leader, he has not used public space for his agitation against corruption. The coconut tree is on his property at Veloor, on the way to Illicakel, near here.
Mr. Rajendran, who spent a good part of his life in north Indian States, says he has come across instances of corruption in all spheres of life, especially among political parties. Talking to mediapersons,
Mr. Rajendran said he would continue his dawn-to-dusk agitation every day till Mr. Hazare called off his fasting.
