The Kanjirappally diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church will launch its Pathanamthitta-Ranni Mission at a public function at Mary Matha Forane Church here on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Fr. Sebastian Kollankunnel, public relations officer of the diocese, said the mission was aimed at the spiritual and materialistic development of Pathanamthitta.
The Archbishop of Changanassery Mar Joseph Perunthottom will be the chief celebrant of the holy Eucharist which begins at 3 pm on Sunday. The installation of Fr. Jose Pulickal as Vicar-General of the mission would be held during the holy Eucharist.
Mar Perunthottom will inaugurate a public meeting to be held in connection with the installation ceremony on the church premises at 5 p.m. Mar Mathew Arackal will preside over the meeting. Youhanon Mar Chrysostum, Pathanamthitta bishop, will deliver the benedictory speech. Kuriakose Mar Cleemis, Thumpamon diocesan Metropolitan of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Geevarghese Mar Milithios, head of Manjanikkara Mar Ignatius Diara, Geevarghese Mar Athanasius of the Mar Thoma Church, P.J. Kurien, Rajya Sabha member, Anto Antony, MP, and others will address the meeting.
