Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here on Wednesday that induction of KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala into the State Ministry as Home Minister was something to be decided after consultations with party leaders.
Talking to the media after a meeting of the Cabinet, the Chief Minister said that he had not told anyone that Mr. Chennithala could not be inducted into ministry as Home Minister or Deputy Chief Minister.
Replying to a question, Mr. Chandy said he would never be party to any attempt to humiliate the KPCC president. Nor would he want to enter into any controversy with Mr. Chennithala.
He had held talks with Mr. Chennithala and had settled all issues. If any outstanding issue was there, that too would be settled through discussions.
Mr. Chandy reiterated that the filling up of the Cabinet post vacated by K. B. Ganesh Kumar would be discussed with all concerned before an appropriate decision is taken. The Kerala Congress (B) had not officially sought re-induction of Mr. Ganesh Kumar into the Cabinet.
Asked about the opposition raised by Mr. Chennithala about re-induction of Mr. Kumar, the Chief Minister said that major consultation on filling the vacancy would be with the KPCC president. He did not think that Mr. Chennithala would have said that he and the Chief Minister would take different lines.
