Murder charge slapped on Nisham

The police charged businessman Mohammed Nisham with murder after Chandrabose, the security guard whom he reportedly assaulted, succumbed to injuries on Monday.

The murder charge had been added to the existing charges, City Police Commissioner

R. Nishantini said. On the day, a team led by the Commissioner examined the flat at Sobha City where the incident reportedly took place.

The District and Sessions Court postponed hearing on the bail plea of Nisham to February 18.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had recently visited Chandrabose at the hospital and asked the police to take stringent action against Nisham.

He had stated that the government would bear the treatment expenses.

An amount of Rs.25,000 was handed over to the hospital as the first instalment.
