Mundur a minor issue: E.P. Jayarajan

September 29, 2012 10:41 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:40 pm IST - THRISSUR:

Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central committee member E.P. Jayarajan has said the Mundur issue is too minor to merit discussion in the State.

He was addressing a meet-the-press at the Thrissur Press Club on Friday.

Asked why the CPI(M) leadership had intervened if the issue was ‘too minor,’ he said, “It is our job to intervene in local issues.”

He said the CPI(M) did not go a single step backward in the Mundur issue as far as its policies on party discipline were concerned.

Asked to comment on Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan adopting a stand that was different from that of the CPI(M) Polit Bureau on the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, Mr. Jayarajan said, “The party has revealed its stand. Those who oppose this stand should discuss it in party committees and related platforms.”
