MP alleges beef ban at police academy

November 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - Thrissur:

Protest is brewing against an alleged undeclared beef ban at the Kerala Police Academy, Ramavarmapuram, here.

In a Facebook post, M.B. Rajesh, MP, has alleged that beef has been removed from the menu of eight messes, including those of higher officials, in the academy.

“The academy used to serve chicken and beef two days a week. A committee in charge of the mess decides the menu. However, beef has been removed from the menu after Suresh Raj Puraohit took charge,” alleged Mr. Rajesh.

He asked Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to intervene in the issue.
