The State Transport Commissioner has asked motorists to remove sun films on the windscreens and windows of their vehicles by June 17.

An official release, quoting the Transport Commissioner, said the registration of the erring vehicle would be suspended initially and later cancelled if the sun film was not removed.

The directive comes in the wake of the Supreme Court order of April 27 last year.
