Minister for Co-operation A.C. Moideen will hoist the flag and take salute at the Independence Day parade, at Students Corner in Thekkinkadu Maidan on Monday. Police, Excise, forest forces, NCC, students police, Scouts and Guides cadets will take part in the parade. The programme will begin at 8 a.m. District Collector A. Kousigan urged the public to avoid the use of plastic flags and decorations. — Staff Reporter
