Mani asks collectors to take action

October 04, 2012 05:02 pm | Updated October 18, 2016 02:56 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Finance Minister K. M. Mani on Thursday directed the district collectors to take strong action against illegal online sale of lotteries run from other States.

Addressing a conference of collectors here, the Minister asked the collectors to form district level monitoring committees including district superintendents of police in the committee and report progress in action against the lotteries to the government.

Mr. Mani told the media after the conference that the sale of lotteries from other States would not be permitted in Kerala. “The government policy in this respect is clear. Criminal cases will be filed against those selling the lotteries.”

He said that Karunya dialysis centres would be started in government hospitals subject to availability of space. Medical college hospitals and district and taluk hospitals would be considered for establishing the centres.
