Mangroves planted

April 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - KASARAGOD:

Stepping into shoes of his father Kallen Pokkudan, who had carved a niche for himself by leading massive mangrove afforestation in northern Kerala, P. Raghunathan planted mangroves on the banks of the Neeleswaram river. Students and social workers planted over 250 mangroves on the eastern bank of the river from Padenekat hanging bridge to the Neeleswaram bridge on Wednesday. The programme was organised by the Thathwamasi Yoga Centre in association with the NCC unit of Nehru Arts and Science College, Kanhangad.

Associate NCC officer Lt. Nandakumar Koroth oversaw the programme.
