Man drowns in Ambalappuzha river

A 20-year-old man drowned in the Pookaitha river in Ambalappuzha while he taking a bath along with his friends on Sunday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Muneer, who hailed from Puthuval house in Kakkazham, Ambalappuzha North grama panchayat. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when Muneer true to rescue one of his friends who lost balance while swimming in the river. Muneer’s body was recovered in a search operation that lasted nearly two hours. The body was later shifted to the Alappuzha Medical College.
