Let the people act: Sivadasan Nair

March 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:07 am IST - PATHANAMTHITTA:

K. Sivadasan Nair, MLA, has said that he is not favour of taking action against Left Democratic Front (LDF) MLAs who have ‘‘denigrated’’ the Assembly.

Talking to The Hindu here on Saturday, Mr. Nair said the Opposition MLAs had committed a heinous crime against the whole nation which should not be trivialised by taking mere disciplinary action against them.

According to him, the entire world witnessed the damage they had been done to the institution of democracy.

The ruckus in the Assembly had made a mockery of all democratic proprieties and respectability.

‘‘Taking mere disciplinary action against perpetrators of this shameful act will be undemocratic. Instead, the matter should be left to the people, who have elected them as their representatives, for an appropriate decision at the people’s court, the MLA said.
